Hi everyone,
I'm looking to update my computer (it's just a Q6600, barely capable of being overclocked, with 4GB of RAM) and I was looking at the Super Nova ROG Intel Core i7 3930K 3.20GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Overclocked Bundle. I thought I'd go all out, lol. I'm really wanting a Hex Core, as I know I'd regret not getting one now over the next 3-5 years, and I can really see it benefiting the work I do (lots of image processing in Lightroom, encoding, rendering, etc., and I also like to game!). I know it's a bit overkill considering I don't need many of the features, but it would be nice to be future proofed in case I do decide to get several graphics cards.
I was just wondering though, what does actually come with the bundle? I assume you get all the boxes, manuals, cables, etc. that would come with the retail products? I did hear that that may not be the case with the CPU, though.
I don't want to find anything missing, especially with the motherboard. I also don't need the cooler, because I've already got a H70 (rev. 1, which will only fit luckily because the X79 Rampage IV Extreme has the switchable socket). Would it be a safer bet to buy the components individually and overclock it myself? I'd probably need to pick different RAM in that case (maybe a good thing?) as I can't see it on the site anyway. I was hoping not to have to overclock it myself, because frankly I can't be arsed, and I'd much prefer OcUK to have done it properly for me and guarantee it to be reliable.
Thanks very much!
