What do Bundles come with?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to update my computer (it's just a Q6600, barely capable of being overclocked, with 4GB of RAM) and I was looking at the Super Nova ROG Intel Core i7 3930K 3.20GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Overclocked Bundle. I thought I'd go all out, lol. I'm really wanting a Hex Core, as I know I'd regret not getting one now over the next 3-5 years, and I can really see it benefiting the work I do (lots of image processing in Lightroom, encoding, rendering, etc., and I also like to game!). I know it's a bit overkill considering I don't need many of the features, but it would be nice to be future proofed in case I do decide to get several graphics cards.

I was just wondering though, what does actually come with the bundle? I assume you get all the boxes, manuals, cables, etc. that would come with the retail products? I did hear that that may not be the case with the CPU, though.

I don't want to find anything missing, especially with the motherboard. I also don't need the cooler, because I've already got a H70 (rev. 1, which will only fit luckily because the X79 Rampage IV Extreme has the switchable socket). Would it be a safer bet to buy the components individually and overclock it myself? I'd probably need to pick different RAM in that case (maybe a good thing?) as I can't see it on the site anyway. I was hoping not to have to overclock it myself, because frankly I can't be arsed, and I'd much prefer OcUK to have done it properly for me and guarantee it to be reliable.

Thanks very much!

Thanks very much for the info! That's reassuring to know you get everything you would have if you got it all separately. I agree, it's a better deal getting it as a bundle.

I had forgot to ask about when the 14 Days Satisfaction Guarantee starts: at the time they ship it, or the time you order it? I assume the former, because the 5-7 working days build time would possibly eliminate more than half of the time yet get otherwise. I can contact support if no one knows ;)

I'm also looking for some advice on the bundle itself. Should I make a new thread specifically for that, as this one is more about the contents of bundles in general? Specifically, I want to make sure it's a good idea for my current case and cooling.

I just ordered this. I reckon I might notice the difference in speed.
That's a nice choice too! I think I was looking at that. It's probably a lot more sensible than the one I'm looking at, but I've saved more than enough and thought I may as well make it last! Again, though, I'd like some more advice so I may create another thread. I saw mention of a second version of the CPU (3930K) coming out which worries me about my timing.

Thanks again!
