What do I do? I'm thinking to Cyberpunk 2077

First of all, I'm new to Overclockers and I'm not tech savvy even in the slightest, so I apologise now for my ignorance. I've had my current PC for I believe just over 3 years now and it was pre-built, these are the main specs, (say if I've left something major out, sorry):

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB DDR3
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970

I'm thinking towards the likes of 'Cyberpunk 2077' and I want to be able to run it well and other AAA games of the time, so if I upgraded soon I was concerned I would be left behind as technology improves but I honestly don't know. I plan to eventually build a PC from scratch, and I ideally wouldn't want to far exceed the £2000 barrier. Any advice on what I should do and/or PC components and a case would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I would look towards gta V for an idea of specs tbh have a read around what that needs and your chosen screen type

Iirc the new 11xx range of Nvidia cards are out so you're sort of just at the start of the new gen so high costs but good future proofing.

Posting in general hardware will get you a better response though mate, he is more for chat than pc stuff.

The mods will probbaly move it for you

Cheers, I had no idea haha, appreciate the advice.

Hello and welcome to OCUK. Cyberpunk won't come out for ages yet, maybe even 2020 :( look to upgrade around the time it is out. You could upgrade the side bits of your system now though, if needed, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Watch you tube videos on system building and tech in general.

Honestly, thanks for taking the time to respond, the advice is much appreciated. :)

Sure I saw a headline in some gaming news regarding the specs being released when they showed the game at some expo.

Google returns some results from the last 3 days but I can't check due to gaming site restrictions at work.

What resolution do you currently game at? The 970 is still exceptionally well qualified for 1080p

I believe I usually game at 1920x1080 @60hz. Basically, I originally purchased an 'ACER - S1 Series S271HLCBID Full HD 27" LED Monitor' again about 3 years ago. Recently out of sheer interest, I hooked up a 'Panasonic TX-L32E5B 32'' Full HD 1080p LCB TV' that I used for console gaming and occasional TV watching a few years back, it's a bit of an odd dual screen setup anyway. Thanks for the response too :)

Thanks, I should have thought of that myself to be honest, I'll look around. :)
