What do i do now?

Well my Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP arived a week ago but i was in the middle of decorating my room so i couldnt put it up straight away. Its up now and first impressions were WOW thats bright. Ive knocked the brightness and contrast down to 35 and it looks ok.

However. I have read somewhere that my screen may not be set up to 24bit is that right? how do i find out?

Also the text looks a bit odd as do lines between things, they seems to have an edge on them, if that makes sence.

I dont know if its just how these things are, this is my first LCD.

Colour looks good in games however my wallpaper looks a bit graded between colours wereas before it was smooth.

Again, this is my first LCD aside from plug it in and lower the contrast and brightness ive done nothing. Oh just though, i do have it on the correct resolution.

If there is anything else that i need to do let me know.

are you on XP or vista?

if you're on XP you'll need to enable cleartype to make text look nice.

right click on desktop --> properties --> Appearance --> Effects... --> tick "use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" --> select "ClearType" from the dropdown box
