Hey guys,

Put yourself in my shoes, what would you do. I'm VERY close to buying an Impreza Turbo, and well, I just do not know what to do. I'm going to look at a WRX SL (heated leather seats and a sunroof) on Sunday, 2004 model. But That costs a fair bit more than say a classic 1999/2000 model, and is (hopefully) going to be nicer for longer.
So would you spend the extra for the new one or go for a good old classic?

Classic.... not biased at all :p If you can afford a 2004 model then get one, I probably would have.

Mine has a sunroof and AC :) Due to the original owner having AC fitted after he bought it.... the noob.

Good for me though :D

Classic. I drove a WRX the other day. They are rubbish. So slow its not even funny. The STI is so much better (even more so with the PPP).

This was my concern, I'm worried that a standard WRX will just be slow in comparison to a classic turbo. But more importantly, less fun due to it being heavier etc?

My dad's is a 340ish bhp newage, and that's crazy fun. But I don't think I'd be modding mine (yet) so I'd want the fun - classic (says heart) but then the comfort - newage (everyday car) says the head.

Hmm, well I went from a 170bhp RSTurbo to my Classic Turbo and was well pleased with the speed/comfort upgrade and the 4wd is just 1000times better than fwd :D

What car do you have now?

how u getting on with your P1 mate?

I enquired about one here in Bristol forsale, had about 40k miles on it - 2001 X plate I think it was he wanted £11k for it with full dealer history on it. [ Trade Sale ]

alas it was sold.

I do like the look of em and the performance is a beaut

If you get a classic try and find one with air-con. I wished I'd paid the extra 1500 a when I had mine.

I drive an Impreza Sport at the moment :p
RB5s I love, but they fetch far too much for their age and mileage.

Its because they are limited, which also means they will retain their future value a lot more. They got rated as the best classic by Evo. You should consider one.

In all fairness though, there is no difference from an RB5 and a normal classic except the mods that Prodrive did. So in essence I could easily make a Classic the same, if not better with less money.
I really really want a classic as my everyday car, but I just have a feeling it would be run into the ground after 2 years of everyday use, making it around 10years old. Scoobs are such difficult cars to choose, either way you win and lose hehe.

I would say classic, but only cause i have a classic turbo and think it's brilliant :D

YOu going import or Uk? Mine is a Uk W reg and although the mileage is a little high it still runs beautifully and looks excellent
