What do i have to do when adding a second harddrive

When i get my system up and running im going to take this harddrive and put it on the new system so i can put my films and games on that,Is there anything i have to do or does it show up like when i add my usb flash drive.

Its going to be a ide hardrive,The main hard drive will be sata with windows 7.

Thanks i didn't really want to spend out more mone for another hard drive just so i can have games on it and and watch films.

Ok well if thats the case then i think ill get a sata one at a later time as ive allready gone well over my budget.
