Ahoy there, right basically iv been a bike rider since i could walk and i currently race motocross bikes have done for years, currently ride a KTM 300 EXC, (uploaded 4 images at bottom of me :))

So i currently have a provisional driving licence, im 19, aint intrested in driving a car on the road, but now i got places to go im going to get a bike for the road.

What do i need to do and where to go and what to get or do etc?

Whats the limit cc sizes for me etc ? as a 50cc would bloody struggle to pull me im 6"3 and weigh a bit id look a rite berk!

And do the people provide you with a bike when your doing a test etc?

As you can see im clueless about what to do to get on the road.

Thanks

First off you are going to need to apply for your provisional License.
Then you are going to need to do a CBT before you can ride anything on the road, seeing as you are 19 once you do the CBT you can ride a 125cc on L plates.
Then you will need to do a theory test, once thats done you can move on to the actual bike test, I am not actually sure on the new test but I think its 2 modular's now? Once you pass them you can ride any bike you like as long as it is restricted to 33BHP, and that restriction lasts for 2 years
When I did my test the test center allowed the use of their bike for the CBT and the full test.

Yep, two modules. Mod 1 is the manouevering test and takes place in one of the many test centres. You're tested on pushing your bike back round into a "garage", a slalom, figure of eight, the infamous swerve, a slow ride, u turn and an emergency stop.

Mod 2 is the on-road test, which includes a hill start and the new "independent driving" section, where the examiner tells you to follow the road signs to a certain place.

From 4 October 2010 your practical driving test will include a section of ‘independent driving’. In the independent driving section of your test, you will drive for about 10 minutes without step-by-step direction from your examiner.

At present, examiners give candidates step-by-step instructions during the test. For other parts of the test, this will still be true. But during the independent driving section of the test, the examiner will ask you to drive by either following a series of directions, following traffic signs, or a combination of both.

To help you understand where you’re going, the examiner may show you a diagram. It doesn't matter if you don't remember every direction, or if you go the wrong way - that can happen to the most experienced drivers. Independent driving is not a test of your orientation and navigation skills.

Driving independently means making your own decisions - this includes deciding when it’s safe and appropriate to ask for confirmation about where you’re going.
