What do i need to get setup with Broadband?

Hi, the house im currently living in is rented, im currently using one of those naff mobile dongle broadbands, slow and crap > but handy on the move.

Anyway, the house has a BT socket thing on the wall, but here come the noob questions

-> I was thinking of getting Virgin Broadband, does a phoneline mean i need to have a house phone, or is it the box on the wall i need?

-> Do i need to pay any charges to bt etc for installation?

-> was only looking to pay £15-£20pcm, dont need huge amount of downloads, 10gb upwards is enough.

If the phone hasn't been connected for 6 months or more (might be less now) BT will likely charge you £125 for the prvilige of having it reconnected.

its been at least 16 months that i know of before it was used, maybe longer, £125

i dont mind paying £25 month, as long as i dont pay daft install fees like that.
