Hey all, thinking about water cooling my rig as its damn loud when i'm gaming and im getting moaned at by the other half. I want to water cool the CPU and my two 680 4gb cards.

I will de-lid and put new paste on my 3770k (thanks Intel for your ******* **** thermal paste and the extra work involved... *******!!!) and will be pushing it past 4.3GHz. The EVGA 680's are so loud its a joke. The top card heats up like a good'n.

What would be a top end kit for my gear? (see sig)

I have no experience with water cooling at all.

Sorry i missed the point that you had 2 680s. ***

I quickly spec'd up a single loop which is ample for 1 CPU and a single GPU.

Uses the combo pump/res which a good start for anyone embarking on WC for the first time. Nice and quite too.

wait, wut? 2 loops for 1 CPU and 2 GPU's?
on what planet?

I'm running 3 Titan's and a 3930k in a single loop :D :D
I also used to run 670SLI and a 3930k in a single loop with a single pump with no issues

don't use the XSPC 750 thing, it is well noisy and a rubbish pump, go with an EK DCP 4.0 (which EK also supply with some of their kits which would be an easy start for new user) and a tube res

take a look at a EK-KIT H3O 360 HFX as a starting point - it might not be what you want, you will need an extra or bigger rad for starters (not sure off the top of my head what you can fit in your case - or you could go with an external rad on a rad stand for cheaper than buying 2 smaller rads)
that kit will at least give you a good idea of what's required

or one of the bigger OCUK kits which tend to come with a D5 which lots of people like - not my preference personally as they run high flow but lower pressure, but either would be more than enough for your requirements

then add the GPU blocks and fittings for that and you are pretty much done

single loop, single rad (phobya 1260), water temps sit at about 3C over ambient, GPU's never go above 45C even in the warmest weather we've had (room temp ambient at 28C for example)
 
If i remember rightly you can get a triple 140mm ( 420mm ) rad in the front. Id be tempted to go for an Alphacool NexXxos Monsta 420. I say that because I think it only has room for a single 140mm fan up top, if so get the thickest you can for there too. Then add a D5 vario pump, and top, whatever res you fancy, the same for a cpu, and 2 gpu blocks. Fittings barbs or compression, then the hose and fluid. Not not a list as others do but, it's late...sorry

Hey Huddy, I was looking for a 750 V4 for my loop and I got offered one, but then another member came along and said that theirs was unbearably loud, and when they took a sound sample and sent it to XSPC they claimed it was 'normal'. After searching the net I have seen mixed reviews, some people saying they are quiet, others saying they are loud, some saying they start off loud and then quieten down etc.

What is your take on this?
 
Not heard many good things about the XSPC pump/res combos like that. Go for a laing DDC or D5 imo, if you can find a MCP35x they're just about the only PWM controlled pumps out there and can run extremely silent as such and still pump like hell when needed. D5 varios will easily do a 2gpu and 1 cpu loop quietly too. EKs DCP is good, but with more restriction it will perform worse than a DDC, they run fairly quiet though.

You should easily be able to do 3 things on a single loop, a decent 360rad should handle it, the more radiator the slower you can run fans though. My single 680 in a loop with a CPU barely hits 40c on a decent day they really don't get that hot under water.

As long as your radiator can dissipate the heat the components generate there should be no issues with a single loop. It'll only go bad when the radiator has a higher heat load than it can effectively cool.

A good 360mm rad should be able to handle about 600-700W of heat load, with good speed fans. Some will perform better, other worse. Unfortunately most manufactures don't provide information like this.

You better have deep pockets, I've just completed pretty much what you want and was surprised how much it cost. If you use the most expensive bits power fittings you're looking at around £1200 plus. I can provide a complete list of parts of my system if you like...
 
Oh big hairy ones! Cant see the other half letting me blow a further £1200 on another upgrade. I was thinking along the lines of around £600. Hmmm back to the drawing board for me.
