Current build is:

CPU: AMD FX-8320
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060-6GB
HDD: WD Black 1TB (2013)
RAM: Corsair CMZ8GX3M1A1600C9 CMX8GX3M1A1600C11 16GB
MBD: MSI 970 GAMING (MS-7693)

Want to upgrade for around £200-£300. Would like to run the new Call Of Duty smoothly, as well as BFV and just having a solid set up that can run most popular games decently. Any suggestions?

I had a look at that. My only issue was compatibility between a ryzen cpu and my motherboard. And if I had to change that, would I then need a different type of RAM? I’m not too sure how to work out which brands/models work together.

Yeah you'd need to upgrade it all but it will be a big step up for your system...

a lot of people have been recommending the Ryzen 1600AF its a good price point and has great performance, if you find them hard to come buy then consider a used Ryzen 2600 for around £70 - £90

Motherboard wise you should look at B450 boards, I highly recommended one is the MSI B450 MAX range

RAM is best to get 3000mhz or higher for Ryzen, Brands like Team Group and Patriot VIPER are the ones to look for.

The 1060 6GB is still pretty OK for 1080P gaming but the FX is useless. At least with the 1060 6GB you can reduce some of the more intensive games to medium to get 60fps, there is nothing you can do with the FX.

Having played BF1 (which is less CPU intensive then BFV) on an FX-8350......it was beyond awful.

If your budget is £300 that should cover a Ryzen 2600, B450M Max, 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz and a 500GB SSD. Definitely would recommend prioritizing an SSD over spending the extra on a Ryzen 3600.
