what do u think on physic x?

I began playing borderlands 2 on my 6950 with physx on low, then I upgraded to a 670 and banged physx onto high. I cant say theres a massive difference either way and tbh theres parts of the game where the physx has caused me some pretty significant slowdown so my physx setting is now on medium because of it.

Same here.

I run physx on medium due to the odd frame rate issue.

Guys with AMD CPUs seem to be the most ardent AMD gpu defenders too I've noticed ;)

It is small man syndrome ;)

Why stoop so low as to resort to personal attacks. can you see the irony in that?

The CPU in my signature, or any ones has nothing to do with anything, nor do i defend AMD CPU's, i'm more a kin to taking the ****

Seriously guys, low blow and completely uncalled for :(

Lol I have been reading the CPU section and it is just as bad as here. If anybody dares slate AMD CPUs, they get pounced on big time.

So that makes it ok to throw insults at someone in here, especially someone who does not even behave like that?

Nice.....

I bought an EVGA GTX670 2Gb (stock) back in April for the princely sum of £300 and it still costs the same today and having owned it for 6 months and yes it's small, efficient and quick but overclocking is gimped on it. I heard the voltage had been pegged to 1.175 volts but had I known what I know now I would have got a 3gb 7970, i'm still in two minds about selling it on but I don't want to take a hit on it this early.

As for PhysX yes there are now a fair few games that use it but there's only a couple that are worth playing. Warranty, customer service support are far more important to me then some gimmicky feature (one of the reason why I went with EVGA, AMD really do seem to lack decent exclusive board partner that can look after it's European customers).

@OP,

Simple solution is to go Nvidia if you want the feature, whether anyone moans about PhysX lacking this/that/rubbish.

If you want it with the minimum of fuss, get a Nvidia gpu.

If you have a spare/old Nvidia then you can Hybridize it very easily and see if that will suffice.

These threads get hilarious as the simple fact is-you want it-get it, it's your money and your preference/want to use PhysX, regardless the way it's deployed.

On the driver front, they both have had their fair share of problems in the past, both will have problems in the future too-suck it up folks.:rolleyes:

I've used bucket loads more Nvidia gpu's than AMD, but both haven't gave me problems to the extent of giving up on a vendor, or bashing one off as being superior than the other-sheer childs play imho.

2560x1440 isn't the sort of resolution that starts to make a difference. Yes ATI catch up with the higher resolutions but it isn't until you get to 3 monitors that you benefit from one over the other in the resolution department.

Amd don't catch up with anything in the here and now with the Ghz and 12.8 official drivers, at a bare minimum, it's an even playing field, but technically it's the fastest single gpu out there at the moment-by a short n curly.;)

@Freddie1980,

keep it, don't be silly man.

Obviously I have no proof either way, but I doubt Nvidia cant do those effects in those games. Seem pretty simple, plus those games are not exactly AAA titles.

Nvidia games are better than AMD games, so that's what would keep Nvidia prices high? okay.....

I't's early days yet, the point is AMD are starting to add in things like that. more titles will surely follow.

Besides, i actually quite like Dirt Showdown.

I'm the only one here with an AMD CPU in my signature

Are you small?

Why do you keep hating on Nvidia? Have they done you some injustice in the past? Every thread I seem to read you go into one about Nvidia this or that....Take a breath brother and be happy with what you have :)

A few months after release AMD and Nvidia drivers are usually equal. I would have to say though that from experience, while both companies mess up, I would have to give nvidia the edge for stability with early driver releases. At this point in the current generation though the difference between the two is negligible

Tell that to the class action against nVidia for the mess they made with their debut Windows Vista drivers.

How far are you in? The effects later on are quite eye catching.

Some of the effects are pretty good, I would say im about 30 hours in, I think im getting toward the end of my first playthrough. My problem comes with the turrent + rockets it was good up until then but when the rockets are used the fps drops presumably because of the particles that fly everywhere.

Also to the OP, in terms of driver stability both can be as bad and both run into issues with particular games.
