What do with old computers (8-10 yr old laptops)

My sister has a couple of old laptops which she doesnt need anymore. I was wondering if anyone could suggest what to do with them. They are approximately 8-10yrs old. Is there any charities etc who could make use of them? Could they be recycled?

It feels a bit sad to suggest throwing them in the bin.

Take them to your local refuse centre and they should get recycled there, but destroy the hard drives of any data best way possible.

But are any in working order, give away to fiends or family?

I'll do something similar with my laptop (unless someone can use it)

Just make sure no gets taken out by it!
