What do you bike experts think of the Specialised Crosstrail Disc 2014?

I need / want a new bike, a good all rounder. Trail and road biking, commuting, for around £500.

Was looking at the Specialised (always a good bet), and they seem to have a nice little number, which is also available in nearby shops.

I want to go back to disks, light frame, and pretty speedy on the flat stuff (lockable front forks would be nice).

Any other alternatives that'd be available around Brum? Marin, Giant...
