What do you guys think of number plates for cyclists

I just been reading this news story and am now thinking if this would be a good idea or not

What do you think would be the pro's & con's of having number plates on bicycles ?

I think horses should not be on the road these days as there far to many cars on the road now and it dangerous

One thing that annoys me about cyclists is how many ride in the dark without lights....

Having Numbers plates on bicycles may also help cyclists if there bike is stolen...
