I'm new to road cycling as I'm training for triathlons but wanted to know what to take with me. Do you takes pump, puncture repair, spare inner tube, tools??

I'm interested for the experienced cyclists what you find useful to have with you.

Mini pump on the frame. Inner tubes and emergency backup puncture repair patches in a saddle bag along with tyre levers and a multi tool. In my pockets I have my phone, a debit card, my driving license, keys, food if it's a long ride, waterproof if it might rain.

Generally insufficient energy.

Pump, at least an energy gel in food - just in case for the shorter rides plus phone in pockets.
Arm warmers, gilet, waterproof have been known to sit in the pockets too.

Saddle bag: 2 inner tubes, patches, tyre levers, co2 cartridge+valve, debit card of rarely used bank account, potentially a bit of cash+change. Rear light goes on the back of the saddle bag - rarely ever comes off the bike.

Pouch in jersey pocket with phone, door key, debit card, photo ID, a £10 note and some form of carb bar. I would also have in the jersey pockets, length of ride and weather dependent, arm warmers, gloves, gilet, rain cape and more food.

Saddle bag with multitool, 2 x tube, tyre levers, co2 kit

Pump. tubex2, leavers, gels, money, phone.

having said that, the last few times I've had a puncture I've had time on my hands so have fixed it and re-used the tube.

Spares Kit - 2 tubes, 2 CO2 & Valve, Tyre Levers, Multi-tool, Emergency (Bonk) Carbs, 2 x Hydro tabs, Small change.

Jersey Pockets - phone, keys, debit card, ID, Food (dependent on length of ride).

This minus driving licence and the patches.

Saddle bag - Tube, levers, multi tool, pump and waterproof jacket.

Bum bag! (Don't carry stuff in pockets) - Driving license, £10, phone and house key.

I've not done more than 30 miles in a single trip but got a 60 mile ride planned soon and will probably revise what I'm carrying. Another tube and food would be a start.

Why no stuff in pockets? Seems like a real small amount of stuff to necessitate a bum bag.

At the moment, nothing, except a water bottle.
Only ever had one puncture.
However, I think I might start taking a small kit with me.
I generally have spare wheels at home in the garage ready to go with tyres already on since my last puncture. Never had to use them though.
I mostly only commute and it's a short distance. So I would just call the Mrs and ask for a lift depending on how far I was from work!

~10 years ago, I packed as much as I could around my Cyclaire ratchet pump in its case (tube, lever, multi-tool) whenever I left the house on my bike.

These, just me, myself and Irene.Oh, tell a lie, I often take 4/5/6mm allen keys out to tweak cockpit position.;)

I've not a fairy visit since before 2010 while out on the road, over that same ~6 years I once came a cropper when my singlespeed's rear wheel slipped in the horizontal dropouts and would not turn (took ~60mins extra to get to work), but I very rarely ever took my 15mm spanner out with me.
