What do you think of 24?

It's something I've managed to miss out on. What are everyone's thoughts on 24?

It's good, but not as good as some would lead you to believe. Some of the series are much better than others, but no one ever seems to be able to agree on which ones. For my part, I'd say 1, 2 and 5 are the best. It gets very, very samey once you get to the end. The last couple of series felt like rehashes of all that had gone before.
 
i agree totally with vonhelmet,
they are definatley watchable with some very good, but they do become samey.
ie. major plot twist half way through a day.
a traitor working in/for ctu.
jack is bullet proof ;)

but saying all the above, i am a fan.
i have bought all the box sets, and i am thinking of watching the whole series soon.
i would recommend them.
also the missus actually enjoyed them better than me :rolleyes:
 
I've never quite managed to get into watching 24, I've seen a few random episodes but it's not captivated me at all. Maybe I need to watch it all in sequence to get the most out of it but I think there's still quite a few TV shows I'd prefer to watch before getting round to it.
 
I absolutely LOVE 24. :D Jack Bauer. :cool:

I enjoyed every season so much that it doesn't seem right. Season six was slightly less awesome than the others, and I would say that season three was my favourite, but worth watching? You betcha. ;)

Also, for those of you that have watched season five, I have the Jack Sack and use it as my bag.
 
It's great. I've just finished watching season 1 again. Hard to remember jack beig so vulnerable and the technology so lacking lol

Definately worth watching. Gets tedious as you get into the later series, perhaps because the novelty wears off.
 
24 had me hooked for years right till the end. The last tv show that did that was the x-files. But looking back, it did have its weak points, and I perfectly understand why some people stopped watching or could never get into it. Series 1-3 rank up there as some of my favourite tv series ever. By the time the show reached series 4, I felt it was getting a bit dull. I wasn't very impressed with series 5 and 6 either - I just didn't like the direction the show went in at all, but I decided to stick with it. Series 7 definitely gave it the right shake up it needed help to freshen things up. Series 8 was a bit disappointing but got really good towards the end.

Every now and then, I go back and watch them all on DVD, but next time I think I am gonna wait until the earlier series are released on blu-ray - can't wait for when that is! :cool:
 
I think it depends which season you watch first...

Some people watch season 1 and love it, others watch season x here and are hooked by that season and then go back to watch the rest but don't always enjoy the other seasons as much.

I watched a bit of season 1 once didn't really get into it, then one day watched season 3 or 4 can't remember which while I was ill and was the only thing to hand I hadn't watched and was really pulled into it, then went back and watched season 1 onwards with mixed results, some of its really good other bits ridiculously predictable and samey or just downright annoying - I actually cheered when a certain thing happened towards the end of season 1 - not gonna give spoilers but I think most people who've watched it will know what I mean.
 
Yeah, it's great, especially if you don't have to wait a week between episodes as it's addictive stuff. But you get the feeling they're running out of ideas by season 4. But then again, it's still fun and Jack's still Jack :)
 
I really enjoyed all of the 24 seasons. Some better than others with Jack stopping at nothing to get the job done (head in a bag anyone?)

One of my top 5 series.
