What do you think ? I'm tempted to lower graphics card to a XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 and get an extra hard drive for about £40-50 ?

What do you think ?

Stellar mate! Not one product on there I wouldn't choose! I'd leave it as it is for now! Will smash anything for next 2 years this! Get the extra drive in a few weeks! 60gb should be enough for an OS and about 5 games plus apps!

what are you wanting the system for what is your main use

Gaming, Download a lot, burn films, stream films using tversity, online, music. Use an external drive for downlaods btw.

Just thinking that graphics card is a lot of cash, maybe get the normal Prolimatech and 5850 card instead to save. So that would be £70 extra ?

I just recently got this , and i am so impressed with it , it handles every game i have thrown at it!! and its super quick , and the case..........WOW!! massive , but have never had so much joy at putting a system together as i did with this lot in the 800d case , was a breeze!! Money well spent!! :)

i really don't think u need a i7 system just for that IMO maybe big wayne will come along and so u the future (the amd future)
Really ?

What will an i7 build be for then ?
Hello 0neAnd0nly,

Do you really have £1300 pound to spend on a computer tower or are you kinda daydreaming and learning how to spec up a Super-Tower?

I say that because the system in your first post is outrageously expensive ££££

You could build a *stunning* system based around AMD hardware for half that amount, probably even less and from the sounds of it I don't think you would be able to tell the difference. . .

Please read this thread when you have some spare time and you will get an idea what I am talking about: 4p

The Intel® Core™ i7 is a *specialist* piece of equipment for Scientists, Multi-media professionals and benchmarkers trying to break 3D-Mark world records and is really not suited to your general PC enthusiast.

You will see a lot of people talking about and wanting a Core™ i7 but I would say 90% of these people do not really understand the hardware and are just copying someone else . . . I don't mean that in a disrespectful way but a lot of people are not doing their homework/research and are happy to let others do their thinking for them . . . never a good idea! :D

I can offer you a small tip about PC hardware and that is when you speccing start with a budget you are *easiliy* able to afford and are comfortable with and beyond that point don't spend 1p extra unless you totally understand what the Benefits the premium will bring you . . . you need to understand what your spending your money on right . . .

The PC hardware scene is full of numbers and people just seem to spend more money on getting higher numbers when they don't really know what these numbers mean i.e: Buy that processor it has 6mb cache, 2mb is no good . . . . what they are actually saying is 6 is better than 2 so you must spend extra £££ to have the 6 :p

It's all nonsense for the most part. Even value PC hardware these days is incredibly powerful for most peoples needs but the numbers games will never cease . . . i.e who really cares if a car can drive at 200MPH or 400MPH if your never gonna be able to drive it faster than 80MPH.

Ultimately the most important thing is . . . .what you do with your computer? . . it's a tool, do not fall into the ePeen catagory where you spend more just to impress others and talk about your expensive hardware, instead get the best equipment you can comfortably afford and then get on with it and enjoy yourself! :)

Good luck and try to keep some money for a rainly day, it seems a lot of people in the UK are getting quite poor so it's always good to have enough money for the simple things like food and rent hehe!

Peace!
