Just ordered a custom knob from a guy on the Forester Forums who makes these up. I've ordered a Black Delrin one with Rubber O Rings
Works out about $100 inc shipping..

Here's a pic of the ally one and he does them in Brass as well - They are Subaru fitment so if you want one lemme know and I'll see if he can do some more :D

Very swish, and you can appreciate that some guy has spent a good few hours on a CNC machine milling a solid block of alluminium into that.

And when it gets dirty, remove the o-rings, give a good clean and put some new o-rings on, good as new!

Lathe TBH. It'd take about 10 minutes to write the G-Code to make that knob and another 15 minutes to machine it. It's not a very good value.

However if you like i don't suppose it hurts anything.

Not even that long... could knock a Catia model for that up in about 10mins and the program would write itself from that....

Still it looks nice, when I was an apprentice I spent most of the last year making several gearknobs and things like aluminium ashtrays... Very basic and easy and quite profitable, especially when you arent paying for the materials. :p

 I could have made that at school :/

Just what I was thinking, I could wander into a lab here in Uni and ask to use the machines for half an hour and make one myself. Can't say i'd be willing to pay £60-ish for one...

Have fun with that on a freezing cold winter morning.

And in the Summer, when the temperature inside the car gets to about 100c :p

Its either Stick/Freeze to it in the Winter, or Leave a nice imprint (like that German bloke in 'Raiders of the lost Ark') on a Hot Summers Day! :D

That looks bad , I hope those O rings are Viton 75 a bit softer than 90 ! :p

By the way I hope they don`t get too hot in the sun as the wrong spec O rings If they do are highly toxic and release a chemical which soaks through your skin and penetrates to the bone

$50 dollars of that is shipping tbh and a prodrive or Momo knob is gonna be about the same money..

Bit worried about being poisoned though !

Whats the wrong spec of O rings mean ?

That's why I steered clear of the Brass one ! :D
