I'm looking for a laptop for me wife and I have seen this advertised on the ALdi web site , any thoughts

Doesn't seem anything special value wise, although it's not exactly bad either. Have a look if Dell have any offers on.
 
Its got HDMI, which is a big plus.
Fair enough but not everyone needs that. At least the 9300M can play games unlike most of these cheap laptops out there, so it's not all bad, I was just thinking you should be able to get a better CPU for £500.

For £500 yes you can get a good laptop, not many have HDMI afaik, and if he intends on using HDMI, thats even better.

The 9300M is OK by all means, but you'd squeeze a 8600 in there id say.
 
It doesn't look bad but for the price you should have a better cpu i think .

Seems a few people have around that spec at that price. It also has HDMI out.

I'd suggest you check a few times on there web site ( outlet one) and see if you can get yourself a good deal.
