Your HDD is more of a storage drive than a boot drive, the greens are designed for low noise and power consumption, theyre not particuarly quick, if youre booting from it it may slow your system down, other than that looks good

I would go for a cheaper RAM set:

You should also have a look at the Samsung F3 1TB:

For gaming I would stick with a wired keyboard and mouse.

The following keyboard is very good for the price:

Get a wired mouse and you can plug it into one of the USB ports on the keyboard.

I would also get the Seasonic X650 for around the same price as the Antec PSU you have listed.

safe g. y would u recomend the samsung 1tb drive n a cheaper ram.
btw the ram i got is 8-8-8-24. what does that mean compared with 9-9-924. which ones better? safe.

for a main machine Id skip out on the 1tb wd green for your o/s drive, go for a Scorpio blue or even better the black black edition. Id only use the green for storage....

btw do you know how to put raid on multiple hard disks. raid 0 is what am looking for and by the responses am getting on the hard drive..am thinking of getting more 3 more hardisks and using raid on em. n also do i have to get the exact same hdd or can i buy for example a western digital 250gb hdd???

As others have said, 1tb Samsung Spinpoint F3. Also if the main use is gaming i would have gone for; 955 and a 5850 over the 920 and 5770. But you can always get another 5770 for xfire.

The Samsung F3 1TB and Western Digital Black 1TB are the fastest 1TB drives from what I have heard.

8-8-8-24 is a bit better but TBH I would rather save £10 an get the 9-9-9-24 RAM. I would also look at getting a wired keyboard and mouse like I said before as this is better for gaming.

The G11 is also usually over £40+ and £26 is a good price for such a keyboard.

I would not suggest RAID 0 on anything more than 2 Hard disks (even then you have twice the chance of losing all your data). As 95thrifles says - RAID 5 is a good option with a large number of identical hard disks. Here is an expaination of the RAID types.

In terms of sequential reads and writes - a large RAID array can be as fast (or faster) than a single SSD. However, for things like random writes/reads and access times SSDs will always be faster - simply because HDDs rely on mechaical components and SSDs don't. This means that systems "feel snappier" if using an SSD as the primary disk instead of a HDD.

If you don't need the massive storage of many HDDs and just want maximum performance - I'd suggest getting an SSD. I would suggest the 80 (or 160GB) Intel X25-M, it is at a relatively good price and performs superbly.

Finally, as per the other thread, I would suggest you get a CPU cooler and overclock your lovely i7 CPU. My suggestions would be either a Prolimatech megahalems or a Corsair H50.
