What do you use to work with Excel or Word docs?

Hi all,

Not an Ipad wiz, but what packages can be used not only to view but also edit applications in Word\Excel?

Don't mind paid for options neither, free would be nice to start with

Try LibreOffice - it can edit and save in MS Office formats and is free.

Sorry I only just realised you're working on the iPad - Pages can work with Word files. I would assume Numbers can edit Excel but I've never tried.
