We've got Movies & TV Series but never had a proper Documentaries thread.
Me and the Mrs are always watching them so need more suggestions.

At the moment watching

Ancient Empires,
so far Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra (she is white in this series).

The Queens That Changed the World,
so far Queen Elizabeth 1st, Queen Anne (who I've never heard of) and Queen Victoria

I could list 100s.

I don't mind a history documentary, but probably less in depth than those. Most of the documentary stuff I watch these days are either on YouTube, or channel 5s police interceptors/traffic cops.

channel 5s police interceptors/traffic cops.

We watch both of them plus all the others and A&E type stuff like Ambulance.

This morning I watched a doc on Boudica who may not actually have existed, it was all on the say so of a couple of Roman writers, one 50 years after the event and the other about 150 years after the event..

A great idea of a post and always on the lookout for decent documentaries. Earlier this month, I couldn't help noticing that this year when compared to previous, nothing(?) on 9/11 was aired.

A recent one on the Titanic, where one of the coals ignited in one of the coal stores, deep in the hull causing buckling which led to weakening and sinking.
Zeppelins, a film about the menace they posed during WW1, the bravery/suicide of the crew (once they knew they were facing Scouts armored with incendiary bullets).
Jeremy Clarkson rarely makes documentaries, the few he has made on WW2 history are brilliant.

Just watching America's Dangerous Trucks on PBS America.

Underride accidents - accidents from cars traveling under the trailers of trucks (one of the most famous was Jayne Mansfield's horrific accident). Madness that underride trailer guards are not tested by crash tests!

I've watched a few classic (old) documentary series recently, and all of them were excellent in different ways.

Civilisation- Alan Clarke
Ascent Of Man
Cosmos- Carl Sagan
Connections- James Burke

Even though they have all dated, and science has moved on, they're still compelling viewing.
