What does Applecare cover?

Hey all,

Does Applecare only cover repairs for faults or do they cover unfortunate accidents (I.e. If you were to accidently spill a drink over the macbook etc.)

Faults only.

It's just warranty, not insurance. Your house insurance should cover it though.

Faults also include design faults such as the cracking on MacBooks. My girlfriend put her MacBook in for repair last week for the top surface cracks (due to the magnetic latching system on the lid) and they ended up replacing the screen bezel and the bottom case as well. Only the top case is covered under warranty for cosmetic damage due to the design fault but the guy got them to replace the other parts for free, probably because the damage was all caused by the magnets.
