I get this in Battlefield2, and i've heard of others getting it in other games. I'm talking about a beep from the PCs internal speaker. What does it actually mean? Is it something to do with overheating?

I'm using an Abit board if it helps...

It really depends on the motherboard.

The manual that came with it should give you a list of what differnt beeps mean. If not then search the interweb for "motherboard beep codes"

Is it a P/S2 port (is that the right name?), round with many pins and a single squarish pin at the top? If so I think the motherboard beeps if you press more than 3 keys at once. This can be a pain in FPS for sure. I do not know if this affects USB keyboards as I have never used one.

One of my old machines used to beep on the internal speaker when the processor was starting to overheat.

In a CPU hungry game could this be the problem?

my abit(nf7 v2) does that too, although open up the proram 'winbond' im sure its called and it stops it. hope it helps

its the windows thing which says u are pressing too many keys and stop being a spacker basiclly, which is a pain when ure in fps and u want to do 4 things at once :P.
