What does CODMW2 edition mean?

I've just received my 5850 CODMW2 edition expecting/hoping there'd be a copy of CoD MW2 in the box, alas there isn't.

So what exactly does it mean?

You don't get a shiny retail box - in fact I dont think you even get a CD/DVD. I believe you get some sort of code that allows you to download the game. Have a look at the various bits of paper more closely!

I thought it'd be like the DiRT thing, just a piece of paper with a scratchable duberry, however no joy amongst the box, invoice etc etc.

Ah - perhaps they've sent an unbundled version, then? Back to plan A then - drop em a webnote (or is there a more appropriate route for after sales service?).

i got the powercolor 5850 mw2 edition and only got the dirt 2 code. when i sent a webnote they told me to send a webnote to pre sales as they didnt have any mw2 codes.

i then sent a webnote to pre sales who then told me to contact powercolor.

not impressed at all by that service. would have probably of got the asus if i would have know that was going to happen.

Pretty sure you get a Code in the box to download MW2 from steam :) PM me ur steam and ill add u for some games xD i suck tho.

the codes are sealed in the box, nothing to do with ocuk now i dont think*

they used to be allocated by ocuk, but now they are sealed in the box i presume its up to the suppliers and not ocuk

if OCUK sells the card 'bundled' with a banana for instane then that card must come with the banana, sold as described is the law of this lovely land.

OCUK sits with full responsibility for the bundled game codes regardless of whos fault it is, and should offer a game/alternative or full refund, let them know and let them sort it out.

im sure they will

ive double checked my box as deffo only got the dirt 2 code. its on a small slip where you have to scratch off the strip to reveal the code.

not sure why its called the modern warfare 2 edition because in no way shape or form does the box or the card mention cod edition.

i think its called that because you are suppose to get MW2 with it (which i never)

ocuk said to contact powercolor but i still think ive been fobbed off.

if any ocuk members read this please can you look in to this for me as i dont want to have the hassle of returning the card as im impressed with it other than the missing MW2 ocde.

thanks.

If it was labelled as coming with MW2 and does not, and OCUK try to fob you off, simply return the card under DSR. Don't see why you should give them your money if they can't be bothered with sorting it out.

It's odd they would take this stance though as I have found OC to be great to deal with in the past.

so you people want ocuk to open every box (taking off the factory seal) to check for a card? Its obviously a mishap from powercolor, yes its the retailers responsibility, but tbh a quick email explaining the situ isn't going to kill you.

plus its a crap game

Don't think anybody is expecting OCUK to open every box and inspect, but should something be missing from the box when the customer receives it, OCUK should sort it out for the user.

And yeah, was rather rubbish.

picked mine up tuesday was in the box have to remove a sticker to reveal the code got a pic of game on so shouldnt be able to miss it

so overclockers should stop advertising it as bundled when it may not, or they should chase up powercolor for sending products that are incomplete.

we buy from ocuk not powercolor, its up to ocuk to sort out.

Thank you for your enuirey.

I'm sorry you felt you were being fobbed off. This was certainly not intended in any way. If you were to return the card to our technicians for a replacement this would obviously cause a short delay while you could not be enjoying use of the card. To try and avoid this for you, it was suggested you try contacting Powercolor for a replacement game if one were not included in the box from the mannufacturer.
However if you wish to contact our technicians regarding a replacement, they can be contacted through our RMA Webnote system (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/webnote.php#rma) or by phone on 0871 200 5053.

Best Regards

^^

exactly.

for a couple of one off's or an unknown amount, a quick email via the customer is a lot less hassle than sorting things out from a business point of view

I just received a PCS+ 5870 this evening. Was the MW2 edition. Has the sticker on the box which was shrinkwrapped, and came with a MW2 2 page Steam leaflet with a peel off for your product key sticker on the back. So I reckon powercolor should sort you out mate.

Strangely enough this card I got has a smell off curry sauce off it. Very strange indeed!!
