SO what does everybody do here, work wise? It'd be interesting to see what kind of jobs us geeks have, any far out jobs like Steve Irwin style, any fighter pilots that could share a story, Wolf of Wall Street types or pro gamers?

I'm tech support (2nd line) for a large blue chip company, it's a grind day to day but third line is in sight, just waiting for the job opportunity then bam, life get's a lot better, I hope.

Most on here are IT bods who try and big up their job where in reality it's a very simple job with poor pay :):)

Ouch! Nah that's me lol.

This one time a lady did actually annihilate her printer with a sponge and a bucket of soapy water, I don't know how she misinterpreted 'with a damp cloth' :D

define poor pay

25k for 2nd line supp 15 miles outside of london (surrey) is poor pay. Thank god I've got a gf, we can pool our savings together and just might be able to put down a deposit in a few years.

If you're single though and on this sort of wage around here good luck!

I'm a chef, have been since i was 16, so 22 years. I love my job, i get paid relatively well for it. I'm still learning every day so it doesn't get boring. I get to experiment with whatever cuisine i like. I don't have a favourite, however, i've recently taken an interest in Far eastern cuisine. I love cooking curries, tagines and casseroles.

My colleague (1st line support) left his old life as a head chef of some average restaurant - a seriously angry person, plagued with stress. He's always telling us how he used to break up the fights in the kitchen between the polish lot waving knives around everywhere, screaming at each other..

I take it that doesn't quite tie in with your work place?
