What does get on bey mean?

Its pretty much "get on boy!" in normal speak but couple that with a thick South Devon/Plymouth "janner" accent and "boy" sounds like "bey". Although some people seem to emphasise saying "Bey" just in that phrase.

Other funny words that can be heard in plymouth are "Ideo" instead of "Ideal" and "purpoe" instread of "purple" the list goes on.

Far more understandable as far as im concerned than a thick northern accent though ;)

do u say coad for cold

and are u up for a roand of goaf bey? lol

Nope, I dont say "bey" or any of the other stuff. I say "get on" and where's that to" but not in the thick janner accent. So in essence it sounds normal lol!

I am just well versed in the translation of janner due to exposure to it whilst at uni and work.

Cool. I was staying with a freind on fore street in Exeter 2 weeks ago, so noisy! had like 3 hours sleep one night :(

Yeah I live in town. It is noisy especially at the weekends but our place is tucked away from the main road so can only hear the bass from nightclubs really.

Trick is just to turn the telly up or get drunk so you cant hear it lol.

Geet onn beyy!!!!!!!! This is a greeting - Allreet bey?!! Get on bey!

Ah I miss my Plymouth accent (people say it's still pretty strong but no where near what it was)

Back in the good old days of going down Milleniums (aka swillenium £10 all you could drink) and Destinys init!

GREEEN ARRRMYY!!!!!

I aint thaaaart baaaad. I tried to tone it down a bit when I went to uni and everyone thought it was hillarious to do impressions of me! lol It's naturally got weaker over time but comes back when ever I'm back down in Plymouth, or speaking with other Janners in London.

lol I think in that advert the Janner accent or over exagerated somewhat. Ive never heard someone speak with that strength of accent from plymouth before lol, I just have a normal west country accent, people cant tell exactly where Im from though.
