I just had to replace my 775 motherboard, and also upgraded to Q6600 from E6600, dropped another 2 gig Geil ddr2 800 RAM in and replaced the fried BFG8800gtx with a Zotac 470GTX.

Its all at stock BIOS at the moment with no clocking. The only measure I have of how things are going having just re-installed windows 7 is the windows experience score:
processor: 7.1
RAM: 7.1
Gfx: 7.6

Is this as expected?

Are thanks for that info was looking for an upgrade for my Asus P5Q Pro and 8800GTS

Will have to check on that CPU & card thanks

Just had a look at OC and they dont have a Q6600 ? any ideas ?

Q6600s are now EOL so can only be bought second hand, however this does not make them slouches, and they still perform in the same league as i7s and Phenom IIs in games

I got mine from a well known auction site for £70. I only went for the Q6600 as it was the highest rated cpu that was supported by my old ABIT AW9D-MAX.

Flashing the BIOS on that ended in tears before bedtime, but the chip is now happily in a new mobo. I have sneaky suspician that the way people talk about the Q6600 I may have landed on my feet for a change.
