What does MHL mean for monitors?

It looks like a screen that comes with an MHL cable (which you can get for a couple of quid anyway), you can plug your mobile in using the cable and view stuff on the screen from it.

Ok, I might sound so stupid but this monitor is just like any other than (in a sense) just with that, so I can still use it for everything else?

yeah it just allows you to plug in a phone / tablet and display that content mirrored on the screen. It will normally also charge the device while connected as a bonus

and yes, the rest of the monitor is "normal"
