What does oem mean?

I know an oem cpu is one without the stock heatsink but what does an oem graphics card not have?????

"Original Equipment Manufacturer" - basically, it will have the minimum to enable a self-builder/mass-market systems producer to add the item to a system. e.g. OEM Windows consists of a disc and an activation key (or for the mass-system builders a VLK "Volume Licence Key")
OEM Graphics card will normally be a brown cardboard box with the card and possible the driver disc. If you are lucky, it may even have the adapters (DVI-VGA, DVI-HDMI etc)

In the case of a Graphics card it would probably mean the cards have been purchased by a company and retailed under the purchasing company's brand name. So for example 'OcUK GeForce 8800 GT'.

ok so its basically just the card and none of the accessories that usually co e with the card. Doesnt really bother me then hahaha

AFAIK with Microsoft software it means the reseller must provide support for it instead of Microsoft.

Thats not quite right, as the OcUK Graphics Cards are generally retail boxed branded cards, just they are the card we got the best deal on price-wise.
