What does the Win 10 upgrade provide?

Hi, Like I imagine most of you did I received a notification of Win 10's arrival, However there's something I'm unsure about and want clarification.

I'm currently on Win 8.1 Pro, The main reason I bought Pro is because of the 16 gb limitation on ram that Windows has on lower versions. So If I accept the free upgrade do I upgrade to Win 10 pro or will it be the Home premium equivalent?

Win 8.1 Pro will go to 10 Pro according to the FAQ: https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/windows-10-faq

You're mistaken. Windows 7 was the last to have this design. See the link below:

As for Windows 10 - It will upgrade you to the corresponding version you are licensed for.

7 Pro, 7 Ultimate and 8.1 Pro will go to 10 Pro.

7 Home and 8.1 Home will go to 10 Home.

Yeah pretty much what the other guys said (Beat me to it! :mad:

If you have pro, you will get window 10 pro.
If you have home premium you will get Windows 10 home.
