Sounds like he is trying to blind you with technical wording. Why would you need to know that ?

AMD S939/S754 chips come on two variants of substrate (the PCB the core is mounted on with all the pins coming out of it), T and N. One is alledgedly meant to be better than the other, but there is little evidence either way as far as I'm aware.
