What does this mean?

I was just looking at the specs page for my mobo, seeing if it supports quad core and read this...

"*Note: If you install AMD AM2+ CPU on AM2 motherbord, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0(5200MHz) to HT1.0(2000 MT/s) spec; however, the frequency of AM2+ CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information."

what does this actually mean and how would it affect me if I were to upgrade to 9850 phenom?

All Phenoms are AM2+
AM2 boards don't support HT3.0 and therefore they have to use HT1.0, I personally wouldn't go for a Phenom on an AM2 board. Many boards have bios' that enable Phenom support but they're often flaky as hell and the performance increase isn't too great with the lower HT speeds.

I haven't tried overclocking my 5200 yet as i only have the stock cooler and don't want to do any damage. I'm only asking about the upgrade because i've gone from a P4 2.4ghz to the AMD 5200 @ 2.6ghz and frankly, windows seems slower than it was before, i expected small changes like menus and windows popping faster, less lag when music/movies load and things like that, but so far, going slower than my p4 2.4ghz was, running xp 32 bit btw.
