What does this wire do?

Spent the last hour or so benching... Seems neither my 3770k or 780 Lightnings like it much. Seems the most I can really get safely is 4.7GHz and 1200/1630 stable... Just went back into the case to turn my rad fans down again and found this...

It's the 8pin CPU plug :eek:

Have a look at the image in the link below, shows the pin layout:

It will be ground or 12v.

To be honest, as long as it's not shorting on anything, it probably wasn't making that much difference.
