What does your camera look like?

I know, random thread of the night but I've just seen a load of adverts for immaculate old cameras (350D, 400D etc) and was thinking what my camera looks like...

All I can say is my lenses are beautifully kept, the camera (a 400D) on the other hand... Scratches on the screen, grip almost worn off completely and flakes and scratches all over it, with a little of the writing and icons rubbed off as well...

All I can say is I use my camera. :p

So what does yours look like? Moddycoddled and unused or battered and bruised?

(Yeah I know I should post a photo, but it's evening and the only other camera I have at the moment is a rubbish phone...)

They are perfect cosmetically....except one 5Dii has a TINY scruff where the pop up flash would be (if there was one), it got scratched from a zip i think.

Oh, and a broken 24-70L, not my fault ! just working one minute, and stopped the next.

Second hand 40D, other than a little speck of dusts in a corner or two, it's like out of a warehouse box.

Second hand 50mm f1.8, not a mark on it.

Second hand Sigma 18-50mm f2.8, apart from the hood with the odd marks and wear (like all sigma weird textured hoods), no marks.

I used to have an OCD with keeping my kit perfect like it's out of the box.

After a few wedding shoot and coming to terms with what a camera kit is actually for (shooting, not a museum piece), I've relaxed a bit more and use it with essential protection only - e.g. hood, GGS for LCD screen and the BlackRapid strap makes slinging my camera to a 'safe zone' all the more easy.

Second hand 30D, perfect condition. Not a single scratch, came with a GGS screen protector as well, also flawless.

Second hand Sigma 18-50, also perfect condition. Not a single scratch.

New YN465 flash, also perfect condition.

I'm pretty protective of my stuff :p

All of my gear is in mint condition, the only thing that is wrong is the sensor or mirror needs cleaning and some light marks on one of the filters.

1D II - A couple of chips showing metal, lots a small marks on the corners. Canon logo chipped, two dings on screen. I'd rate it exc. :D

1D II - Very worn. semi silver in appearance, some markings worn, some markings chipped. It's probably worthless really...

D3s - in near mint condition. I am afraid of taking this out should I drop it. Silly really as it is as tough as they come.

Nikkor 24 - 70 f2.8 - also in near mint condition. I call this combo "the back breaker" as it's the heaviest lens I own (so far).

Nikkor 50mm f1.4 - Just bought so brand new condition. My video lens and general purpose.

Nikkor 85mm f1.4 - Lost it's hood but the lens and optics are mint.

and Lastly but not least

Nikkor 14 - 24 f2.8 - This has a minor scuff on it's hood but apart from that it's in excellent state.

Still mint, been to Death Valley, Yosemite etc etc :p

5D Mk1 - A bit scratched and batter
24-70L - Looking a little weathered
135L - Good as new
50mm 1.8 - Looks a bit crap, lost the lens cap, don't actually know where the lens is

My old 33v Film SLR is MINT!.. not a mark or scratch.. but it is covered in dust!!..
My current 400D is (apart from a bit of sand from the weekend) Mint also!!.. just need to clean it before using it again!..

The 28-105 USM (kit) lense from the 33v is a little dusty!..
My Nifty is the used one!.. and still spotless!!. :p

I just don't like any of my equipment to get scuffed or dirty!.. OCD!!!!!!!

Mine did too, dust there is terrible, gets everywhere. :D

I think the reason mine is so battered is that it's been used so much (grip) and the scratches are because it spends a lot of it's life in a walking backpack with being battered around for miles on end.

1D MKII, scruffs around the battery compartment, Duct tape holding the eye cap on, scruffs/scratches around the straps, all the black point off the hotshoe

30D similiar state as 1D

24-70, good nick bare the lens hood.

70-200, hood badly scratched and chips of paint missing on barrel.

I currently have this issue. Although it isn't just with my camera's, but most everything I own!

Nikon D40 without a mark on it.

Mine sits snugly in a Crumpler Messenger Boy 2500, it's a squeeze, but it all fits, including my Nifty :D

Pretty much all my gear only has minor signs of handling, and of recent my D700 sports a sexy wrist-strap which I bodged onto a modified D300 RRS L-bracket (comfort and convenience, no going back from this :)). My Zeiss 50/2 makro has some serious signs of use (bought second hand), and it looks all the better for it!

Canon 40D, looks as new about to be sold to make way for a near mint 1Dn mk2
A slightly worn looking 20D and my beautiful but well worn Contax iia.

Oh, and a nice looking Bronica ETRS.
