Unlikely. The Motherboard lets me overclock the RAM independant to FSB and most RD600 users seem to be getting upwards of 1100MHz with this feature (with the right ram obviously). Anyway, it seems to react with more VDimm so it must be a RAM related I'd say.
I could test with the RAM sync to FSB but the board doesn't like FSB's upwards of 470.
My PC5300 Ballistix is @ 533Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.085V atm, was running it at 550Mhz with the same timing and voltage and it was memtest error-free overnight. Didn't try and push it to the max though because there's no point.
I have mine running at 500mhz 4-4-4-12 but i need 2.4 volts to keep them stable. The maximum I have got is 560mhz at 5-5-5-15 but my cpu is holding me back.
Just because the pc 5300 stuff will do high clocks doesn't mean they will not die if you do that.I think they are dying because people are pushing them too far with too much voltage.Have any died that have been run at say 500mhz stock volts for a long time ?.Ram is so cheap at the moment frankly i don't care if they die will just give me an excuse to buy more whilst they are rma'd.
Crucial ballistix pc 6400
currently happy @ 501 @ 2.1 volts @ 4-4-4-12
