i posted here because i know a lot of moders look on this section the most, and its the moders who will be able to give me some advise :)

I am going forward on my G5 case build and cant decide what dermal to get?
Been looking at the dermal 300 or 4000 mainly, what do you guys think?
and is a flexi shaft useful? dose it lose any of the torque?

thanks.

i bought the Big Dremmel kit for about £100 or so. It included flexishaft loads of toolstips a knife sharpening device a hole cutting attachment the lot

BIG waste of money.

But a basic dremmel and a shed load of cutting discs. the re-enforced are best below that is the heavy duty and if you don't want to have to keep changing them then don't buy the basic discs they wear down real quick, that's when they don't break mid cut.

Any resin reinforced discs are good.

Do not get the rechargeable one, the batteries have a finite life, and lack serious power.

I have the 4000 and its excellent. You can really tell the difference in quality with a dremel compared to others.

Just a bog standard 300 does everything I need it to, though if cutting through thick aluminium (2-3mm +) then a more powerful one would be good.

I also have the dremel 300 with flexi shaft, comes with cutting discs/polishing/grinding stuff as well for £62.

I used it with the flexi shaft to cut a big hole in the bottom chamber of my antec p180 which has fairly thick steel. It worked fine and as long as you take your time and let the disc do the cutting (don't force it) it works really well. The flexi shaft is brilliant for awkward angles. I cut a hole 15x15cm square and only used 2 cuttings discs.

I've since used it for cutting up 120mm fans to make shrouds etc as well. Well worth the money IMHO.

think i will get the dremel4000 and make sure i get some good cutting disks.
is there a recommended brand for the disks or just the reinforced disks?

getting excited about the new G5 build i will be starting soon :)

going to be making some other posts on this section if people want to see how i get on, going to be starting once i get the donor case and after uni (3weeks)

oh and thanks for everyone who has helped me so far its appreciated :)
