Hey All,

I am running Windows 7 RC1 (Build 7100) and have a new ATI 4890 XT Graphics Card; I downloaded and installed the Windows 7 x64 Catalyst 9.6 Drivers... they install fine but when the PC reboots I have no picture (can here sound...)

Oddly as well when the Drivers are not installed it shows as Standard VGA Driver...

When I get no picture I reboot into save mode, and the driver says "4800 ATI" I have to uninstall the driver to get a picture again :/

Ideas?

I think it supposed to say 4800 seris, and I have issues with 9-6 as well, poor performace (i m crossfire) particaly when my cards are overclocked

get 9-5s instead see if that solves it

Tried 9.5 too and same thing, installs ok but upon reboot nothing on the monitor, can hear the pc though - literally just no output :/

turn the monitor off than back on, if its a TFT screen and like mine it keeps doing that. don't ask why i have no idea, mybe the card is slow to send single to the monitor

Tried that...

Tried 9.4, 9.5 & 9.6 all do the same thing :(

Might format and install Vista Home, see if it's ok on that, if so could just be Windows 7 being a bit lame - otherwise it could it be the card?

It says "Standard VGA Device" when no drivers are installed...
