Been offered 8mbps from pipex for just changing my bt line rental over to them, could i get the full 8meg with these stats?

downstream 31DB

Upstream 29DB

downstream Attenuation 21

Upstream Attenuation 9

Any more info needed?

Thanks for any help

Jonny

I currently have a 2mb pipex connection, is that what you mean by sync rate?

Cheers for the reply :)

It'll be whatever your modem's reporting...
If you're on fixed rate 2Mbps it's most likely 2272 kbps.

First suggestion's the other question I asked, and after that look at the first post of the sticky. That should give you some range.

2272 is correct yes.

BT checker says 6.5 to 8meg so hopefully that will be correct :)

Cheers

i used to be on 2mb pipex myslef and all line checkers to see what i would get with max adsl said i would be able to get 3mb, but i actually sync at 7520 and get downloads in excess of 800 kb/sec peak so im well happy so it goes to show that the checkers are not accurate
just try it and see to be sure

You should be able to get the full 8MB. My stats are not as good as yours and I am now syncing at 8128 Kbps and the line seems stable.

I wouldn't rely on that BT line checker thing, it said I could only get 3MB, but my next door neighbour could get 8MB...
