What DSLR

Looking at getting one of these. But which one for a beginner/intermediate.
Want something I wont grow out of in 6 months.
For general photography use.
Or would I be better getting something like a G2/3. Do they work the same as the above

price between 500/1000.
Will need some glass in that price though

Go into a camera shop and have a play with a few cameras. Most entry level SLRs are pretty similar on spec and the deciding factor will be which you like the feel of best in your hand and how you find the menu.

Can't go wrong with Canon/Nikon really! Although last time I had a play the Sony cameras were quite nice.

Probably be Canon 600D, Nikon D5100 and the new Sony A65 (more expensive so you will lose out on glass - but it looks like a very interesting camera)

Glass - I would look at something like the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 as a general lens and look at adding to it later when you decide on the sort of photography you particularly like.
