What DX version does a Geforce4 MX support ??

I pretty sure all the GF4xxx TI series featured DX8.1 though. I had a 4200 and it did extra scenes and effects on 3dmark over my previous GF2mx.
 
GF4 MX (NV17) doesn't use the same core as the rest of the GF4 line (NV25)... it has more in common with the original GeFroce 2 MX (NV11) than anything else - like the GF2 MX it lacks any vertex pipelines.
 
Unfortunately the GF4mx is basically a dx7 GF2mx that's clocked higher. Nvidia have always taken the **** with their renamed cards it seems.
 
It was actually just a die shrink of the GF2 and clocked higher heh.

Then again Nvidia came back with the 5200 FX.... Oh I gave up on Nvidias low end a long time ago.

your basicly correct there GF4mx = GF2 + the GF4 ti AA and memory bandwidth saving tech
