Hi,

Ok looking to put my fileserver in a nice case to go along side my Lian Li V2000.

Now I am liking the looks and layout of the Lian Li PC 767.

But what other cases are out there that support EATX motherboards and can hold 10+ HDDs?

Thanks

I think the Thermaltake Armour does as well as a couple of other Thermaltake cases. E ATX cases are damned expensive though, which is why I am building my own.

The Akasa Eclipse will take eATX motherboards without a problem.
The problem is holding that many harddrives, the front drive supports take 5, plus theres an extra 2 below the psu, so you would need to put some in the 5.25 drive bays.

Coolermaster Stacker 810 :) it'll store 9 drives in the modules, plus can fit another near the PSU, and loads of space where the rear exhaust is (or you could pickup the original stacker) as that has dual PSU and you could fix hard disc cage to the PSU rails.

Ok well its a choice between the Stacker 810 or the Lian Li PC 767.

I am leaning towards the PC 767 as it has a door and will match the looks of my V2000.

Although the stacker does have more room as it has 11 bays it is tempting. One question though, the 4 in 3 devices does it come with 3 of these like the coolermaster site says?

If it has, that means I can get 12 hdds with 2 spare 5.25 bays right? As the 4in3 things mean it takes up 3 5.25" bays but gives you 4 3.5" bays correct?

Yes the stacker comes with one module, you can fit three modules into the stacker. Not sure how many hard drives you can fit into each module, tried fitting three but they seem pretty close together  unless someone has a picture of four hard drives in one module.

Each module takes up three slots, so you'll still have three slots free, minus the the front I/O panel, so that's two in total free.

Like I said earlier you could attach another two modules elseware (case floor and rear top)

The Coolermaster ATC S4000 supports EATX and can still be found out there with a bit of searching.

Superb case but...
Doesn't hold 10 hdd's though without modification.

3x5.25"
5x3.5"

Yes it can. 5 in the lower 3.5" bay area and another 5 in the upper 5.2" bay using something like an IcyDock MB018CPF drive bay adapter (uses 3 x 5.25" bays to add 5 x 3.5" hdd's). That will give 10 drives in total although admittedly it leaves no room for an optical drive without modification.

So another option would be to have 5 in the lower bay and 3 in the upper bay using the smaller MB016CPF (uses 2 x 5.25" bays to add 3 x 3.5" hdd's). That will give 8 drives in total but there is also a mid cooling area where it would be fairly easy to mount 2 or 3 further hdd's but would need a small bit of modding.

Using something like the IcyDock you could pick pretty much any EATX case and convert some of the 5.25" bays into multiple hdd bays.
