As above looking for advice on email clients, currently when i do check my email i use windows live mail simply because its on my laptop, i have now decided that i am not really a lover of wlm and would like to change it. i am after a client that can access hotmail.com sky.com and possibly gmail

what can you suggest, i don't want to pay for anything so free is good :)

Thunderbird... although I feel like I want a change, it doesn't feel like it's improved as often as it was before. Not to mention it doesn't support push sync which I would love.

for hotmail and gmail (not sure you can still add this now) I use windows 8 built in modern app. I use hotmail to login so it's seems natural.

For business email (IMAP) I use outlook (2010) which is also linked to hotmail to sync everything between windows and android :)

If I didn't want the syncing I mentioned (or the fact that I got office cheap) I'd likely go thunderbird route too.

I have my Gmail account added in the Windows 8 Mail app so I get notifications and lock screen message counts, but I do all the actual using of the account in the Gmail page in Chrome.

For work I have Outlook 2013 talking to an Office 365 account.

For Gmail I use the web version in chrome. For work I use Outlook connected to office 365 or increasingly I am just using the ofice 365 outlook web page

Windows Live Mail albeit MS don't seem to have updated this much since around 2012. Also, not sure why, but when using IMAP for my Outlook.com mail account it can be quite slow and sometimes produce a timed out error message, even when not checking all the folders.

I did try Thunderbird and quite liked it but its default handling of inserting photos into mails is way to primitive and lacks the polish of WLM or Outlook, from the Office suite.

I like to use the IMAP function on my Windows PC then all is synched when I use Blue Mail on my Android devices.

There doesn't seem a lot of choice, remembering Eudora of old.

I just use the Gmail website and have all my e-mails from other accounts integrated into it. I think you can just use the Gmail website to have it check any other POP3 account and pull mail from it. After that I just tag them all different with colour coding and with custom filters so it's all sorted neatly.

From Outlook 2013 can you print multiple emails by highlighting them at once? In WLM you have to do one at a time :(
