What exactly would I need for a 3D Eyefinity Setup?

I have looked around for a bit trying to find a straight answer but not found one yet. I do know that I would need at least a 5xxx or 6xxx series card, 3x 3D 120Hz monitors (or whatever display setup i want 3x, 6x....) and the active display port cable(s). From here I have no idea on how I would get the system to go 3D.

What glasses to use?
Any specific software needed?

I have read somewhere that using the a 3D TV that has glasses is one way, for example some of the Samsung TV's as they have the built-in tech that tells what speed the glasses to work at. Is this the only way?

Hope someone can help :)

Welcome to the forums :)

Firstly, you would obviously need the three monitors with the adapter a you mentioned.

iZ3D and DDD are the drivers that AMD use for their 3D. <---- links included :)

The glasses I believe should come with the supported monitors.

TBH, with AMD cards I really wouldn't bother with 3D. My experiences of the drivers show that they are pathetic. If you really want 3D, then I would recommend you get nVidia card's and 3 monitors as there is a better range and the driver support is excellent.

Have you spent much time with a stereo 3D setup? my experience tells me most people never really use it once the initial novelty wears off so its a lot of money to throw at something you might not use.

While admittedly my experience with iZ3D and the AMD side of it in general is a little out of date if you want a reasonably supported implementation with timely updates for new games, etc. then there is no real alternative to using the nVidia version tbh.

Rroff couldnt of said it better.
either go for the new samsung monitors if you want to stick with ATI or go nvidia.
