What F1 game for PC?

The november release is only for PSP and Wii. There haven't been any official F1 games on PC for quite a while because Sony had the license.

Codemasters have the license and their game should be out next year. Can't say whether it will be any good.

If you're looking for something more on the sim side [although the word sim can only ever be used loosely with f1 games] rFactor and GTR Evo have a couple of F1 mods. MMG 2007 for evo should be out soon and I think it will be the best of them (based on the beta)

Looking for a decent (current) F1 game for PC? Is there a 2009 one available.

If not, what do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Your best bet is probably rFactor with an F1 mod. Other alternatives are.. F1 Challenge 99-02, with a mod or maybe there's a mod for GTR2 or Race. Basically what I'm saying is you have to rely on a mod - Sony was s(h)itting on the F1 license for so long, releasing F1 games only to their own platforms. The first real Codemasters F1 game is coming sometime next year (while the Wii game, as the previous poster said, comes out this year).

iRacing also has some formula type cars but no F1 and as you might know, it has monthly fee plus all the cars and tracks cost money too. But I'd bet my money on rFactor and the mods it has, there's bound to be 1-2 excellent F1 mods among all those.

Mods in this sense are unofficial cars created by third parties. All the handling, the car models, skins etc are defined by the creator. It does mean that the creator has to make a few guesses to try and approximate real life lap times, rather than being able to co-operate with the manufacturer. I don't think full on realism is that important in F1 though

edit: you should be able to download most of the real f1 tracks as well for most games
