what features does direct x 10.1 cards offer in direct x 11

It is my understanding that direct x 11 can take advantage of a lot of 10.1 features could someone please let me know what these are. Currently own a 3870's in x fire and they do a job at present wanting to hold off for a 28nm gpu before upgrade how much life do these direct x 10/10.1 cards offer going forward with direct x 11 titles.

Absolutely nothing. You wont be able to run DX11 mode in games which support DX11 on a DX 10.1 card.

If you are happy with your current performance though, waiting until 28nm before upgrading is a good choice.

DX11 cards will run any version up to 11.

DX10/10.1 cards will run any version up to 10/10.1. They won't provide any DX11 features.
