* Vauxhall/Opel Corsa
* fiat Punto
* Citroen Saxo
* Pug 106

Any others that i havnt thought of?

A ford mondeo would be good, but i need insurance to be less than 1k too :(

Even on shopping trollies, insurance for a 17 year old will be more than £1000...

Group 11 insurance, 0-60 in 9.2 seconds = bad first car.

Unless you mean the 1.6 8v one.

Well I guess the 1.6 one if the 1.8 is too expensive to insure. What I mean is nice spec, modernish cars which are pokey enough and go for very cheap prices.

1998> Astras any good?

Uninteresting to drive, sluggish for engine sizes, boring interiors but nothing terrible about them like the mk3 astras.

Fiat Cinquecento Sporting :D . Fun, cheap motoring; funky looks for group 3 insurance and a good nicker example for 750 squids.

Im in the same situation really, is mileage a huge factor? is it best to go for little as poss or can high mileage cars run ok if well looked after?
