Hey, I have a dead iMac 2011 (GFX bars of doom). Not really feasible to fix it, and it's old tech now, so even upgrading the RAM, GFX, etc is pretty moot. What I'd like to do is take the drive out and copy off the relevant data. I have a USB enclosure and the option of another mac (MBP) or Windows. I'm not looking to migrate the data, but rather just secure a copy of photos, music, etc, without all the additional junk of OSX, apps, etc.
