Hi all,

I was wondering what free security software, you guys have found to work with Windows 7 and what is recommended?

Currently I have Avira and Ad-Aware, thats it. I used SuperAntiSpyware on my XP machine.

Also wondering if anyone has had security problems with Window 7? Or it is more at risk with wireless routers? I am running WPA, but recently while I was on the web with a couple of browsers open the computer went from what I was currently looking at to what I was previously looking at in the other open browser? And checking task manager showed winlogon.exe and another process (which I can't remember the damn name of but may have had some sort of Win7 system feedback relation?) to be running, at high CPU usage. Guess what I am worried about is some sort of system/keystroke hack? or someone utilising my wireless or such?

I am using the original 7000 build on this.

I wouldn't be worried, sounds more like a bug or temporary resource issue imho. Win7 is rather secure. Personal recommendations are Avira (which you have) for AV and general malware protection and MalwareBytes(.org) for a free on-demand scanner - similar to SuperAntiSpyware or Ad-Aware. I can definitely vouch that they work perfectly on Win7 x64 builds up to and including the RC. NOD32 also seems to work OK but is payware.

Talking of which, upgrade to the RC! Tons of bug fixes and leaner code. Maybe also change your wifi to WPA2-PSK and change your password to a proper secure one if you're worried?
