I've got two Wharfedale boxes, DV832B (£25) and WFLP1000 (£40).
The DV832B is a cheap-o Vestel box, it's OK but sometimes the sound dips for a second or so.
The WFLP1000 is a rebranded Tvonics MDR-200, it has been faultless since i got it, and the software is better than the vestel box. EPG actually shows a proper grid, whereas the vestel only shows now/next, or to get a full EPG you lose sound and picture, and it covers the whole screen and shows the next programs for the selected channel for the next 2 or 3 hours.
The WFLP has a flat/wide remote, and it takes a lithium cell battery (CR2025), not sure how long the battery is going to last, but they are more expensive than the AAA's in the other remote.
The remote on the DV832B is much slimmer, and would be easier to hold if you have small hands. however the red/green/yellow/blue buttons are not arranged in a horizontal line, which is a bit stupid, but they are used to page up/page down on the EPG, which i guess is why they've done it.
The DV832B has a now&next, which shows the channel list + now/next + description + a mini preview.
You can hide channels and rearrange them on the WFLP, you can't on the other one. You can only favorite channels.
The WFLP has a button that lets you cycle between current channel and last channel, which is useful if you are flicking over during the ads.
It also separates TV from radio, so radio channels don't clutter up the EPG/channel list.
The WFLP also seems to have a more sensitive tuner.
It has a couple of niggles, like if you set a timer, when it switches over to that channel, you can't bring up the EPG without it asking if you want to cancel the timer.
The WFLP is also much smaller, and seems to produce less heat, it uses less power, but it's quite light and if you're sitting it on top of your TV, you need to arrange the SCART cable so the weight doesn't pull it off!
The DV832B has a display on the front showing current channel.
I would say the WFLP is worth the extra cash, but if you're after a cheap box, then i would chance getting one of the £10 boxes that have been advertised recently.
The tvonics box is also sold as a Logik LDR2/Vesa (for £50, i think it comes with an upright stand + sucker cup), i've also seen it in supermarkets under a different brand for £35.
