What game 'hooked' you the most?

First Person Shooter?
Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy
It was then I realised how powerful these games were. I wanted more. I wanted grandeur. I got Counter Strike Condition Zero :)

Racing?
Coling McRae Rally 2.0
It played beautifully with my four button gamepad although the graphics were bad on the Riva TNT 2.
From that I went to Need for Speed Underground

Cannon Fodder on Amiga
Half-life PC
Op Flashpoint PC
Half Life 2 PC

couldn't choose between those tbh.

Quake2 multiplayer, especially 1v1. I was stuck on 56k and I just suck at 1v1 anyway......I pretty much got owned by everybody. I would get angry, throw things, break things and swear I'd never play again. But every time I would be on until the early hours of the morning  I managed to break my addiction with Q3A (I only ever played a couple of 1v1's in all the years I played...) and got into clan league games instead (Barrysworld, Jolt). It was much healthier :p

As for single player......Sim City 3000 consumed my life for a while, as did Sim City 4 when it first came out.

It is a toss up between two games as to which I have spent most time playing. The original Quake(I completed them all barring Q3 which I got bored with) or Need For Speed: Porsche Challenge which I still play occasionally to this day.

Other games have come and gone but none has had quite the same impact as those two.

Raven Shield for about 2 years.

I agree with that. Played the demo from day one, and then the game from day one, and just played it today.

Been playing probably 4 or more years now, and its still the best ive played.

Exactly the same! I played it for 2 years straight in almost every waking hour. I tried quiting a couple of times but id always come back. Quit again after they patched something and it wee'ed me off so i deleted my char and cut my ties. Have never gone back since. Infact, i havnt been able to get into any MMORPG since, nor really any other games for that matter.

I think im RPGed out :)
Ahh bit similar with me. When I quit I gave my account to a guildmate so I couldn't play it and tbh I didn't have much of an urge to after a while anyway.
Have played other MMORPGs but they've not had the same addictive factor as EQ for some reason.

Anarchy online had me hooked for 3 years :S then there was mohaa and now hooked on CS:source, just one more go, just one more headshot! :D

BF1942 got me hooked, and led me into Forgoten Hope, and Desert Combat. Still prefer BF1942 over BF2. To bad my disk broke and I havent got around to getting a new one yet :(

GTA vice city and san andreas wasted soooooo much of my time. i didnt stop playing till i completed them and then id still go on just for the hell of it.

with the release of MTA SA last week im hooked again :O

used to have a serious addiction to champ manager too

Tactical Ops, playing for give or take 4 years. Was actually the mod rival of Strikeforce back in the early day's. But then TO won :D

MMPORPG, I played a free one called Knight Online for like 8-9 hours a day for about 3 weeks, just couldnt stop playing.

Quake 3 instaunlagged has me hooked and has done for a long long time, everyone knows everyone and its such good fun.

:)

One of the hardest games to master I'd say that has ever been made

First ever game to get me hooked was Pokemon on the gameboy. Managed to rack up about 500 hours on that over the three years I played it.

These days, CSS has me hooked. Haven't gone 4 days without playing it (those 4 days I was on holiday :p). But it wasn't CSS that got me into FPS gaming, CoD on the PC was what really started it off. :)
